Newport Coast was a census-designated place until 2001, in Orange County, California, United States. The population was 2,671 at the 2000 census. The master-planned community was developed by the Irvine Company. Newport Coast was annexed into Newport Beach, California in 2001.
It is considered as one of the wealthiest areas of the country and is home to many celebrities including basketball stars Kobe Bryant, Michael Cage, Karl Malone, and author Dean Koontz. The homes in the area range from small apartments to multi million dollar ocean estates.
